The Premium account comes with 1 Terabyte (1TB) of storage–a vast amount of storage that most people never fill. However, if you do need more storage, you can easily expand your account with our Metered Billing option. With Metered Billing enabled you get unlimited storage, and you simply pay for what you use.
How does it work?
Without Metered Billing enabled, your account is limited to 1TB of storage. Once you reach this limit, you can no longer upload photos or videos (without first deleting some files from your account).
If you enable Metered Billing, the storage limit is removed from your account, allowing you to store an unlimited amount of data. When your subscription renews, we calculate the storage you are currently using, and bill you for that amount of storage.
Metered Billing works whether you pay monthly or yearly. To enable Metered Billing on your account, please contact support@dphoto.com
How much does it cost?
Our storage pricing is very simple. We bill storage in 0.5TB blocks, and each 0.5TB block that you use costs $5/month. This makes it easy to know how much your bill will be each month or year.
Examples
Below are some examples to help illustrate the billing process further.
Yearly billing - Sarah has a Premium account with yearly billing. On the day her account renews, she is using 1.2TB of storage. Sarah’s storage costs is $15/month (because she is using three 0.5TB storage blocks). There are 12 months in the year, so $15 x 12 months = $180. Therefore, Sarah will be billed $180 for the next year’s subscription.
Monthly billing - James has a Premium account with monthly billing. He is using 2.8TB of storage when his account renews. His storage cost is $30/month (because he is using six 0.5TB storage blocks). There is a $2 surcharge for monthly billing (to cover the extra costs), so James will be billed $32 for his next month’s subscription.
